Saemi is a New York-based fashion photographer whose work poetically explores emotions, creating narratives where delicate beauty and destruction coexist. She contrasts softness and rawness to craft images that are both sensuous and intense.
Drawing inspiration from poetry, music, and film, she candidly captures the full range of human feeling. By looking within, she reinterprets traditional beauty and values through a contemporary. Her work embraces emotional vulnerability, gender fluidity, and alternative modes of beauty, often resonating with LGBTQ+ narratives.
She embodies a raw, industrial aesthetic dripping with elegance and draws from grungy yet romantic designs filled with organic, imperfect shapes to craft structured yet flowing silhouettes where visceral textures and delicate details create a harmonious balance. Through her photography, Saemi moves people and transform the way they view the world.
She earned her BFA in Photography & Video from Kyungil University in South Korea, and later received her MPS in Fashion Photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
